Summer and Winter

Postby KeitaMannanin » Mon Nov 16, 2009 12:02 am

Okay so a lot of people have written some really beautiful stuff on here, and I love to write poetry even though I'm not fabulous at it (I always did better with stories :? ).
But I wanted my first 'real' post on here to be something more special, so I chose a couple of my favourite poems from my own BOS and here they are. Hope you don't find them too horrible... :D
XXX

(This first one seemed really fitting, cause though I don't know what it's like in england at the mo, the temperatures are well into the minus' here! The seconds more of a summer poem I guess, and I'm more of a winter person myself, but I really do love it...)

Winter Queen

Midnight black
On porcelain pale
And two dark holes
Tunnels down to the soul
Shining

A touch of ice
The smell of snow
A frozen heart
In need of melting
Thawing

Golden Light
Burning brightly
As the sun
All that can be seen
Eternal

Hold me
Embrace me
Warm this chill
From my ice cold soul
With a kiss

Will you be my Summer King?

The Sun

Crimson curls
And burning eyes
Can you see her firey depths?

Golden hair
And skin to match
I smolder for you
(And only you)

Heat me
Burn me
Brighter than Raziel himself

For there is no sun
Without her flame

Yeah I've read that too and it woz actually part of my inspiration. I mean Donia is super-cool - no pun intended!

I've just started reading Ink Exchange and it's good if a little sad. Poor Leslie :( Hope it gets better for her. Will have to read and find out I guess!

Glad you liked the poetry, and lol-ing isn't that bad. You could have screamed. And ran away. ;)

Scream and run away? Why'd gothicfaerie do that?

I liked both poems... I'm not sure which I prefer more. It's kinda hard to decide.
But I like your style anyway! :)

Is Ink Exchange a book about tattoos? I think I've seen it in the library. Is it worth reading? (Actually, I think all books are worth reading, it's just that I need to curb myself of the habit of reading till the early hours of the morning.)

Raziel... reminds me of The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare. I'm currently rereading some sections of it. Because I'm trying to prevent myself from reading other series. Which would ruin my plan to study Italian from a textbook I borrowed from the library.

Ink exchange is about tattoos kinda, but it's mainly about the fae so if you enjoy that kind of thing it's great, I really recommend it! I've read the mortal instruments too (I read too much ;)...) and it'sone of my all time favourite series! I LOVE Simon's sense of humour, he's so dry, but I think I also kinda have a thing for Jace... Maybe it's all that arrogant charm?

Have you ever been to Italy? I've been once, to Rome, and it was AMAZING! If you ever go, or go again, make sure you visit the Villa Borghese. Bernini rules, he's easily one of my favourite sculptors and the grounds make for a pretty incredible walk too. Unfortunately, it also means my Italian is limited to the likes of 'ciao', 'come stai?', 'mi chiamo e...' and the biggy - and most important - 'Un cafe e una pasta per favore.' Big caffeine fan here ;).

Thank you for your comments though. I love writing poetry, it's so relaxing and it's also nice to get a little feedback. Especially when it's good stuff :D. Got a whole archive at home, so I might post some more... we'll see!
