Divine Poetry...?

Postby KeitaMannanin » Thu Jan 21, 2010 3:29 pm

More poems! I tend to write them on whatever has got my interest at the time, usually the subject of the books I've been reading. The last one's were Fae themed and these one's are kind of about Angels, I guess. Any-who, let me know what you think!

Dark Angel

I Am Your Maker,
Do You See Me
Hear Me, Still
Do You Care?

Thoughtless Miser
Turn Your Back
Shadow Cast
And Visor Down

You Are Infant
And Not My Child
Love Abandoned
Courage Failed

True Faith
Honestly Forgotten
Yet Forbidden Acts
Practiced in Earnest

Kiss Her Sweet
For She Is Yours
Now, And Still
Forever Mine

Trust In Hope
She Will Be Saved
By Any Other Hand
And Hers

They Bear Your Mark
But Not Your Scar
Where You Are Lost
Light Reaches Them

Not Yours

A LoveLess Poem

Window Watching
For Stargazing
A Glimpse Of Heaven
My Personal Hell.
I Fell.

Wingless Angel
Still Pretending
To Know The Love
That Was Risked.
Now Missed.

Hibiscus Soaps
And Painted Boxes
Carved Out Vines
Create Your Face.
With Ivory Lace.

Breadcrumb Trails
To Your Heart
Iron Cased
I Lost The Key.
No Entry.

Guiltless Liar
One Too Many
Broken Promises
And What Disclosed?
My Soul Exposed.

Dealer Calls -
I Lost It All.

Dunno how well this theme worked for me though...Have to think of a new one. :D

The mortal instruments by cassandra claire, hush hush by becky fitzpatrick and fallen by lauren kate.
I loved claire's books the best though - they were probably the most inspiring :).

yes i agree, they hooked you more

hush hush was slightly slow and i didnt really like it that much

fallen was good but the heroine was spineless and annoying.

I know what you mean!
I was disappointed with Hush, Hush because it's a really good idea, but for so much of the book nothing really happens and then at the end she tries to squish in tonnes of action and the end result is just...confusing.
I liked Fallen but too found this a little slow going. Good cliff hanger ending though, so I'll probably read the next one which sounds like it will be interesting. I hope it lives up to expectations!
There are not enough good angel books out there though, which is sad because a good author could create an interesting story line and touch on some really complex and contraversial issues, especially considering the amount of myths and folklore related to the subject. Shame :(

yeah

ever since twilight, the vampire genre has gone to pot (sorry if u like it), and there arent many other books that have a touch of mythology that doesnt base solely on vampires. ive found a few but im still looking for more angel books =]

Twilight - Urgh. Need I say more? (Again no offence to anyone who likes it)
But I gotta agree with the general consensus that sparkly vampires suck. (No pun intended )

For some odd reason I love werewolf books, always have - though this probably points to a serious, undiagnosed mental condition. Oh well.
My favourite author is Patricia Briggs. Her mercy thompson ones are best, though she's not technically a werewolf, but I can't wait for the next Alpha and Omega either...Though Meyer (myer? mayer????) hasn't totally destroyed the werewolf myth, it annoys me that if anyone catches you reading a werewolf book, they immediately start prattling on about twilight, assuming you're mooning (Oops, again the pun was unintentional!) over the werewolf guys in that. Don't see the fuss really - I much prefer my boyfriend. The real things much better :D

lol i know.

i found some books called the dark powers trilogy which have a werewolf in and no vampires so i was happy with that. the heroine is still kinda spineless but not as bad, and she is a necromancer. =]

I know - why is it so difficult to find a heroine with backbone?!

I read those books as well - finished the reckoning just last night - and lots of times all I could think was 'that's so pathetic, I would have done this' Not very nice maybe, but she has super-charged dead-raising powers. She could do more than she ever even attempts!
And the only time she ever stands up for herself is to be mean to the totally sweet (if a little short tempered) werewolf, who is clearly in love with her and she is just as obviously crazy about! *Shakes head* Madness!

Have you read the Elena Michaels books by Kelley Armstrong also? She's a werewolf but a totally kick ass heroine as well -I highly recommend them, if you're not very sensitive to some slighlty gruesome scenes!

lol i know what you mean about the reckoning, there are so many times she could have raised the dead to save herself or whatever.
